AYOMIKUN'S VERSION

Sam and I attended the same university in the year 2014. He's friends with my eldest brother. I was in 100l while he was in his finals. we were not friends in school but I knew him (obviously) and he knew me. We had a dinner in school and I was assigned to invite ex foundation students, that was our only conversation in school.


Fast-forward to 2016, I was scrolling through Instagram and I saw my school colleagues in a post wishing him happy birthday. I Innocently did the same, but within seconds, this man was already in my dm. I cannot even recall the things he said to me, however, I just knew he was trying to flirt with me. I told him it was past my bedtime and he asked for my number. I gave him, he called and asked me to save it. Guess what, I didn't 🤣🤣🤣.

A month after, I got a call from him. Worthy to mention that at the time, I didn't know him by his first name (Samuel) so I was confused, then he said Omope Samuel I was like "oh you! Samuel sounded strange sorry" after the greeting he asked that I save the number again and this time I did.

We got talking, he asked about my relationship status, I told him I was single and wasn't ready for any relationship as I needed to give my studies full attention. He asked about my hobbies, I said writing then he asked me to write a story for him. I declined but he insisted, I eventually gave in and wrote a fictional story about us and how we didn't work out. He also added bits to the entire writeup and concluded the story by adding that we met in the future and we were doing well individually. In the midst of the ecstasy around our calls, chats, and stories, this man had posted my picture on BBM and Instagram. I wasn't even on bbm but I was told about it by a friend, I asked him to stop. After a while, we stopped talking.


On this lovely day in 2017, I got a call from Samuel. I knew he was the one but I acted like I did not have his number. He introduced himself and said he thought about me and wanted to say hi. we spoke for a little bit and I told him I'll return the call. After a month I did and we got talking everyday from there. he invited me to a football match in his office which I attended with my cousin, albeit, late so we missed him play. After the game, we went to eat and the connection and vibe was good. He dropped us off, we spoke throughout the night and my heart and mind knew he was the one.


SAMUEL'S VERSION
Rewind a few years earlier than 2014, during the great '2go' era, a colleague of mine gave me Ayomikun's 2go username - something like Kundel. I admired her then but quickly dismissed it because...

In 2014, she joined my alma mater but I had no inclining that a paragon of beauty ever existed in that institution. Her first year, they had a dinner and award event. She invited me to the event but I saw it more like an 'invitation to treat'😂. I knew at that point that she had a great role to play in my life. Well, to let you know, I had a serious relationship ongoing at the time...lol.

Fast-forward to Nov 2016, my birthday, I got a lot of well wishes. I have this habit of responding individually to all my well wishers. Ayo was among them. Slid into her DM on Instagram, babe said she wasn't interested. I moved on with my life and dated someone else whom I thought I'd definitely get married to...lol

A year later in 2017, I was single again. So, I started calling my contacts randomly. Got to her contact, called her and oh well, the rest they say, is history.🥰
